Please keep in mind that CCW holders can still be charged with carrying a concealed weapon in several cities in Georgia if they have a knife less than 5 inches long. Over 5" and SB308 defines as a knife that we are allowed to carry. Under 5" and we are still subject to city laws criminalizing knife carry.

Under exactly what law can ccw holders (or anyone legally entitled to have a gun in their car) be prosecuted under for having a gun in their car at Hartsfield Airport?

Finally, when SB291 is brought up at the legislature again, I believe we should push to have the Katrina situation language separated out from the Airport carry language so they are in two different bills. That will force politicians to take a public stand on both issues.

It is amazing that our very own Ed Stone gets quoted in an official Press release from the governor's office. GCO has come a long way from the back room of Shoney's. Thanks to all who made it happen.

I'm really disappointed. We've Republican rule for years now, a Republican Governor, and we still can't carry in churches, university campuses, and scores of other locations. Are we free or not?

My biggest problem is the fact that we have to ask government for permission to carry our firearms. That is wrong.

I have a feeling that our ancestors would absolutely be rolling over in their graves if they we weren't fighting for our gun rights...rather, looking to get a little here and a little there.

Failure in Georgia.

Agreed, 291's Katrina language was why Sonny killed it. He shows his true stripes here - no friend of the gun owner. More an enemy that wishes to be perceived as a friend for the sake of his political career.

Yes! Congratulations to all for your hard work. Makes me proud to be a member.

IMO Section 3 of SB291 contains the reason Perdue killed it. And it wasn't anything about ariports. May our next Gov have a backbone.
